NEPLAN is a comprehensive analysis and planning software for electrical power systems and multi-energy networks. It supports modeling, simulation, and optimization of transmission, distribution, and industrial grids with modules for load flow, short-circuit calculations (IEC/IEEE), protection coordination, contingency analysis, optimal power flow, harmonics, reliability assessment, and dynamic/transient stability studies. Beyond electricity, NEPLAN also handles gas, water, and district heating/cooling networks, enabling integrated energy planning and cross-sector analysis. The platform provides graphical network modeling, equipment libraries, scenario and version management, and configurable reports and diagrams. It offers interfaces and APIs for data exchange and is available as both a desktop application and a cloud-based solution (NEPLAN 360). Utilities, engineering firms, and universities use NEPLAN to support planning, operation, and training.
